French-inspired restaurants in downtown Asheville

Les Restaurants

Welcome to the Asheville French Quarter located on N. Lexington Avenue in the heart of The Paris of the South. Chef/owner Michel Baudouin shares his family’s rich culinary legacy from their farm near Lyon in southeastern France. No passport is needed when you join us at Bouchon French Comfort Food for a taste of the French countryside and Crêperie Bouchon, our Parisian sidewalk café.

Les Vins

Our wine lists contain carefully chosen French wines. They’re palate-selected to enjoy with any meal, light or not-so-light. French wines are categorized by region rather than grape variety, so choose from our rich Bordeaux, sumptuous Burgundies, exciting Champagnes, or from our seasonal specials.

Our house wines, including our premium Le Grand Bouchon, are bottled in the old country from blended grapes grown on lovingly tended 75-year-old vines in the Rhône Valley.

La Vie au Ferme

Farm-to-Table has long been a way of life for the Baudouins. The farm in France where Michel grew up has been in his family for 200 years.  Today, the Baudouins live on a couple of acres in Leicester along with their cat, two dogs, two small goats, several chickens and a rescued Tennessee Walking Horse named Senator Dolittle.

Our menus reflect Western North Carolina’s amazing bounty.  You’ll taste fresh ingredients from our WNC neighbors at  Jasperwood Farms, Mountain Foods, Paul Collins Produce, Fork Mountain Farms, and Mountain Select Natural Products when you visit our restaurants.  The Quarter even sources fresh seafood locally, from Bluewater Seafood Company in Hendersonville.

Michel’s family’s farm included geese, chickens & rabbits,  a vegetable garden, & two vineyards.  It’s no wonder that he relishes creating menus with fresh ingredients from Appalachia.   GO

The Baudouin family home is located in gorgeous Leicester and is full of life! Vonciel, Michel’s wife, is a native Texan who’s also a talented chef. Dinnertime at the Baudouins? Often, it’s a delicious match-up of Vonciel’s southern family recipes & great local foodstuffs.    GO
